    Next National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is "proud and honored" to have Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland as a member of the team.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — President-elect Donald Trump's pick for National Security Adviser Michael Flynn appeared to confirm Kathleen Troia "KT" McFarland will be appointed as his deputy in a Twitter post on Friday.

    ​Earlier, the New York Times reported that Trump had chosen McFarland for the position.

    McFarland currently works as a security analyst for Fox News and previously served in national-security posts under Republican presidents Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, according to her biography on the Fox News website.
