WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — According to Canadian news network CBC, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) will hold a protest on November 26.
Swissport has recently bought ground service provider Servisair, but the two sides could not reach an agreement about the wages for their employees.
On November 10, the companies closed the deal which was rejected by the workers' union. Shortly after, IAM members supported a strike by 71 percent of the votes in a poll of whether to undertake a strike or not.
The IAM represents nearly 4,000 airport workers.
