MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – The bill on "medical and scientific research on the medicinal use of the cannabis plant and its derivatives" was supported by 220 deputies on Wednesday, the Chamber of Deputies said on Twitter.
The draft bill also stipulates the approval of cannabis oil import when it is required by patients. The document does not allow self-cultivation.
Meanwhile in the neighboring Uruguay, cannabis has been legalized fully. Uruguay’s House of Representatives and Senate passed a bill legalizing and regulating the production and sale or marijuana in 2013.
