WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, Trump announced in a Twitter message that he canceled the meeting after “the terms and conditions of the meeting were changed at the last moment.”
“Mr. Trump’s staff has told us that the President Elect’s meeting with The Times is on again. He will meet with our publisher off-the-record and that session will be followed by an on-the-record meeting with our journalists and editorial columnists,” the newspaper said.
On Monday, Trump met with TV hosts and executives where, according to the New York Post sources, he called them "dishonest, deceitful liars."
According to The New York Times, unlike the gathering with TV networks, Trump’s planned meeting with the newspaper's editors and reporters would be mostly on the record.
Last month, Trump threatened to sue the newspaper for libel over an article citing two women accusing him of unwanted advances.
