John McCain Urges Donald Trump to Nominate General Mattis as Defense Secretary
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — McCain said that the Defense Department’s recent actions regarding this effort have been questionable and that any effort to continue in that direction during a presidential transition would be inappropriate.

“I write to urge you to suspend all efforts on the development and implementation of rules and regulations at the Department of Defense that would change long-standing policy, including with regard to military personnel ratings, standards, uniforms, job titles, and related issues,” McCain said on Monday.

The Senator also noted that military personnel policy will continue to be a priority and the important bipartisan work will continue with the transparency it deserves.
