Cyber professionals in the private sector capable of doing much more than the law allows may have a place in the US military, the Army News Service said in a report.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In addition, the possibility of hacking for the US military may also entice cyber professionals, who are already serving in the Army, to stay in the Army, the article explained on Tuesday.

"The good news is, for our cyber professionals, they can do things in defense of our nation that they would get arrested for in the outside world," US Army Vice Chief of Staff General Daniel B. Allyn told a recent forum sponsored by Association of the U.S. Army in Washington, DC.

Tuesday’s report and Allyn’s earlier comments come amid attempts by the Army and other branches of the US military to develop their own in-house cyber forces.
