Poll: Trump, Clinton Virtually Even in Ohio and Florida

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are neck and neck in Ohio and Florida with just two days left to go before the presidential election in the US.

The results of a CBS News Battleground Tracker poll released the morning of November 6 show that swing states remain up in the air for Clinton and Trump. Both won 45% of votes in Florida in the poll, leaving the hugely important state literally tied. In Ohio, the Republican nominee has the narrowest of leads: up one point with 46%.

The poll surveyed 2,377 registered voters between November 2 and 4. Both candidates were revealed to be viewed negatively in many ways by poll participants.

More than 50 percent of voters in both states feel that Clinton is "part of what's wrong with politics today." Most voters (48% in Ohio and 50% in Florida) are disturbed by her email private server scandal and feel that it's "worse than anything they dislike about Donald Trump." A majority of those polled (59% in Ohio and 58% in Florida) believe that Clinton "has ties to big donors" and are bothered by it.

As for the GOP nominee, most of those who voted (49% in Ohio and 43% in Florida) think of him as "separate from politics today." Surprisingly, despite endless accusations by Clinton supporters that Trump is somehow tied to the Russian government, the majority of voters (49 percent in Ohio and 47 percent in Florida) don't believe such ties exist.

Sixty-eight percent of the voters in Ohio and 31% in Florida said they felt less motivated to vote this year because they "didn't like the candidates."

In Florida, Trump has increased his support among Republicans slightly to 86%. Clinton has the support of 91% of Democrats.

According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls in Florida, Clinton has a narrow 1.2-point lead. In Ohio, Trump is up just slightly more than 1 point.
