WikiLeaks Unveils 29th Batch of Clinton Campaign Chair Podesta's Emails
13:50 GMT 04.11.2016 (Updated: 11:21 GMT 06.08.2022) For the second time on Friday, WikiLeaks released sensitive emails from the account of Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The latest leak of emails, which is the 29th batch released so far, bumped up the total number of emails to 47,275 out of a total of 50,000 that WikiLeaks promised to publish before the US presidential election due to take place on November 8.
The whistleblower website published the first batch of emails on October 8.
4 November 2016, 10:30 GMT
The previously published emails gave insight into the early stages of mapping out Clinton's presidential campaign strategy. The letters revealed, for example, that Clinton reversed her position on free trade agreements from enthusiastic support to strong opposition, as trade deals appeared to be a hot-button issue for many voters and one of the main talking points for Clinton's Democratic Party rival Senator Bernie Sanders and Republican candidate Donald Trump.
On October 20, the whistleblowing website also published a bunch of letters sent to or by Barack Obama before he became US president.
