WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US joint terrorist task forces have been alerted by the American intelligence agencies of a potential al-Qaeda terror plot for the day before the presidential election, US media reported on Friday.
Al-Qaeda could be planning attacks on Monday in three US States of New York, Texas and Virginia, CBS News reported.
The media sources underscored that the threat is still being assessed, but the agencies take it seriously out of abundance of caution.
The US presidential election is taking place on November 8.
