A Clinton campaign event in the US state of Iowa was candeled after the shooting of two police officers, according to media reports.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A campaign event in the US state of Iowa featuring Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine and former president Bill Clinton was canceled Wednesday due to the fatal shooting of two police officers, US media reported.

Kaine and Clinton had been scheduled to appear at the “get out the vote” event in Des Moines, the state capital, according to The Hill newspaper.

US Authorities Arrest Iowa Police Shooting Suspect
Two officers — one from Des Moines, the other from a suburban police department — were shot and killed in their patrol cars Wednesday morning in what Des Moines police described as “ambush-style attacks.”

According to local media, police have arrested a suspect in the shootings, 46-year-old Scott Michael Greene.
