A Pennsylvania gun shop has taken out an ad in a newspaper saying Muslims and supporters of Hillary Clinton need not shop there. “We do not feel safe selling to terrorists,” the ad running in local newspapers – and pinned to the shop’s door – says.

The ad encourages all others are encouraged to "visit our underground bunker and speak with our unique and deplorable sales associates."

Stocking Up: US Gun Sales on Record Spree

Paul Chandler, 54, owner Altra Firearms (billed as "politically incorrect firearms") in Jackson Center, Pennsylvania, says he has no need for business from Muslims, Clinton supporters or supporters of President Barack Obama, for that matter.

In an interview with ThinkProgress, Chandler said Clinton has “clearly stated that she doesn’t think Americans should have what she calls ‘assault weapons’ or even guns themselves.” Clinton has said she has no intention of banning gun ownership, though she does support a variety of restrictions.

Chandler calls this "incrementalism."

"She will take one gun away and then she’ll take the next gun and the next gun until finally there’s no guns. So if you’re supporting her, I’m not going to arm you."

Speaking with Talking Points Memo, Chandler noted that his position on Muslims has evolved. "We did have, in three-foot letters, 'No radical Muslims,' but I changed that to 'No Muslims,' period," he said.

The businessman noted that he hasn’t actually ever declined to make a sale to a Muslim or a Clinton supporter, though he told Talking Points Memo he once told a woman with an Obama bumper sticker that the shop was closed, and denied service to a man who used a racial slur against African Americans.

Gun stores in Florida and Oklahoma have declared themselves "Muslim free zones" in the last two years, with at least one being sued for discrimination. A lawsuit brought against a Florida gun store making that claim was dismissed because the policy didn't represent an imminent and concrete threat to Muslim people, and because no Muslim had actually ever been denied service at the store.
