WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The numbers Clinton cited were disclosed in a report issued last week by TargetSmart, a polling and data-analysis firm affiliated with the Democratic Party.
"We have just reached our historic milestone: More than 200 million Americans are now registered to vote," Clinton said at a rally in Manchester. "That includes 50 million young people, the biggest number ever."
Clinton added that large numbers of Americans have united in opposition to her Republican rival, Donald Trump, who has "threatened" US democracy by refusing to accept the outcome of next month’s White House election.
"When Trump is making this unprecedented attack on our fundamental values, our institutions, millions of people are standing up for democracy — registering, volunteering," Clinton stated.
Elections for president, seats in the US Congress, and numerous state and local races across the country will take place in two weeks, but residents of 36 states and Washington, DC have already begun early voting.
