Clinton Leads Trump by 5 Points Two Weeks Before US Election - CNN/ORC Poll

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is leading her Republican rival Donald Trump by five points as the 2016 US presidential race enters its final two weeks, according to a CNN/ORC poll.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Clinton leads Trump 49 percent to 44 percent among likely voters, the poll pointed out on Monday. Libertarian Party candidates Gary Johnson and Bill Weld were supported by 3 percent of voters while Green Party candidates Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka had 2 percent of likely voters’ support.

Likely voters showed more confidence in Clinton to handle issues in terrorism, immigration and foreign policy, the poll found. However, the release showed that Trump had more support to handle economic issues, leading Clinton 51 percent to 47 percent.

The poll showed Clinton leads Trump among women (52 percent) and non-whites (72 percent), but Trump outpaces Clinton 60 percent to 31 percent among whites without college degrees, according to the poll.

Clinton holds a 53 percent to 36 percent lead among likely voters age 45 and under while Trump holds a 50 percent to 46 percent lead among likely voters age 50-64, the poll found.

Earlier in the day, Trump told a rally in St. Augustine, Florida that Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta's leaked emails show the Democrats were rigging polls by oversampling Democrats.

Critics have charged that CNN has often oversampled polls by including more Democrats in order to create the perception of Clinton winning the race, including the poll conducted after the third presidential debate in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 19.
