Trump Business Strategy: Hire Pretty Women

Former workers at a Trump golf club in California claim that the Republican presidential candidate made it clear that he only wanted ‘pretty’ women working at his facility.

According to court documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times, employees who worked at the golf club in the 2000s describe Trump's attitude toward female workers as sexist and predatory.

Allegations are that the real estate magnate cared primarily about a woman's attractiveness, and her professional qualities took second place. Former employees recall Trump directing club managers to fire women who were ‘not pretty enough' to meet his tastes.

"I had witnessed Donald Trump tell managers many times while he was visiting the club that restaurant hostesses were 'not pretty enough' and that they should be fired and replaced with more attractive women," Haley Strozier, a former catering director at the club, said.

Employee accounts indicate that Trump's business strategy was to hire attractive women in order to increase client visits.

"I know this because one time he took me aside and said, ‘I want you to get some good looking hostesses here. People like to see good looking people when they come in,'" according to former restaurant manager Sue Kwiatkowski.

Keenly aware of the situation, managers switched staff schedules so that only certain employees worked when Trump visited the club, the documents state. One employee recalled how Trump demanded that a female worker be brought over to a meeting he was having with a "group of men," and then pointedly asked her if she ‘liked' Jewish men.

The evidence is contained within a complaint filed against the golf club focusing on the establishment's culture of refusing to give employees the legal amount of breaks and meals per shift.
