WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the attacker injured several people in a Houston shopping mall area and was neutralized. Six people were sent to local hospitals following the incident.
"Our bomb squad will be checking suspect's vehicle," the Twitter message stated on Monday. "Crime scene covers a multiple block area near Weslayan at Bissonnet."
Local authorities have also asked residents of southwest Houston to shelter in place as the scene of the shooting remains active.
