Trains in Northeast US Alter Schedule Over Possible Bomb Discovery in New Jersey

Several trains will operate on different schedules Monday in the northeastern United States due to police activity near a New Jersey station, Amtrak said in a statement.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The passenger railroad’s " Acela Express, Northeast Regional and other services will operate Monday with some schedule modifications," Amtrak announced.

Amtrak suspended service on Sunday night due to police activity near the Elizabeth, New Jersey station. Local media reports indicate police found a possible explosive device near the train tracks.

Passengers should be prepared for other cancellations and delays throughout the day, the statement cautioned.
