WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — All schools in the Alpine Independent School District in the US state of Texas have been placed on lockdown because of alleged shootings earlier on Thursday, according to local media.
"Alpine School District has confirmed that all schools are in lockdown Thursday morning," News Chanel 10 reported. "Brewster County Sheriff's Department also confirms the lockdown and says that there is a possible active shooter situation."
According to the report, Texas state officials assured the public that the disctrict's students have been evacuated.
