Media Blackout: Trump Surges Past Clinton in Major Poll, Press Cites Older Polls
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The US government must set up at once a special prosecutor to probe the alleged corruption of Hillary Clinton because the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice cannot be trusted to do it, Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump said.

"The Justice Department is required to appoint an independent special prosecutor because it has proved to be… a political tool of the White House," Trump said in Akron in Ohio on Monday. "The FBI and the Justice Department cannot be trusted to investigate Hillary Clinton's new crimes."

Trump was speaking the same day reports emerged that the FBI had uncovered another 14,900 emails that Clinton and her lawyers had not previously revealed from her four years as US secretary of state.

"At least two primary constitutional departments are being corrupted — State and Justice," Trump said.

He called for the appointment of the special prosecutor "immediately."

Trump alleged that during her years as secretary of state, Clinton had repeatedly approved rulings of corporations around the world that later paid huge sums into the Clinton Foundation which she and her husband former US President Bill Clinton had headed.
