WASHINGTON, August 18 (Sputnik) — A civilian contractor aircraft crashed on public land near the Nellis Air Force Base in the US state of Nevada, the US Air Force said in a press release on Thursday.
"[A] civilian contractor aircraft supporting 57th Wing operations crashed on public land adjacent to Nellis Air Force Base," the release stated.
An earlier message posted on Twitter indicated the plane was an A-4 Skyhawk, and crashed after an in-flight emergency.
The pilot received treatment for minor injuries, the release added.
