WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is leading the Republican rival Donald Trump in his home state of New York by 30 points, a new Siena College poll revealed on Monday.
"Hillary Clinton now holds a 30-point lead over Donald Trump, 57-27 percent (up from 54-31 percent in June), and a 25-point lead in a four-way matchup, 50-25 percent, with 16 percent for other candidates," the poll summary stated.
Trump is performing poorly in the state because only 55 percent of New York Republicans support him, while 81 percent of Democrats are backing Clinton, the poll noted.
Siena College pollster Steven Greenberg added that New York has voted for the Democratic candidate in the last seven presidential elections, and there is no threat to ending that streak in November.
