Half of US voters under 35 years old support Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the race for the country's presidency, a new poll has found.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The survey conducted by USA Today and Rock the Vote and released on Sunday found that 50 percent of the 75.4 million of so-called Millennials planned to vote for the former US secretary of state.

Only 18 percent endorsed Republican nominee Donald Trump, while the rest chose neither or said they were not planning to vote.

Clinton’s support among young voters grew after her main Democratic rival, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, pulled out of the presidential race and asked his supports to back Clinton, in a show of Democratic Party unity.
