    US Presidential Candidate Clinton Paid Effective Tax Rate of 43.2% in 2015

    US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton paid an effective federal income tax rate of 34.2% and an effective state and local income tax rate of 9.0% for a combined federal, state, and local effective tax rate of 43.2%, according to the candidate’s campaign office.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton released her 2015 tax returns on Friday, which showed she paid a combined federal and local effective rate above 43 percent, the candidate’s campaign office said in a press release.

    “In 2015, the Clintons paid an effective federal income tax rate of 34.2% and an effective state and local income tax rate of 9.0% for a combined federal, state, and local effective tax rate of 43.2%,” the release stated.
