MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama's approval rating has risen to 54 percent, its highest point since the time prior to his second inauguration in 2013, a poll published Thursday said.
On Thursday, Obama marks his 55th birthday, the final one in office.
The poll conducted by ORC International for CNN found that the biggest increase in Obama's approval rating comes from younger US nationals. Some 9 percent more support him among those aged 45 or younger. His approval rating fell by 1 percent among older generations. About 45 percent of respondents said they disapprove of Obama's policies.
The pollster interviewed 1,003 adult Americans on July 29-31, 2016 by telephone.
ORC International's previous poll for CNN, commissioned in June, showed a 52 percent approval rating for Obama.
