    US Senator Bernie Sanders congratulated Hillary Clinton on Friday with her Democratic Party nomination for the presidential post.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — US Senator and former Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders congratulated Hillary Clinton on Friday on the "historic achievement" of Democratic Party nomination for the presidential post after she officially accepted it.

    "I congratulate @HillaryClinton on this historic achievement. We are stronger together," Sanders wrote on his Twitter.

    Sanders endorsed Clinton’s candidacy on July 12. On Tuesday, he said Clinton should become the next president of the United States.

    Clinton officially accepted the nomination as democratic party presidential candidate on Thursday and will now face Republican nominee Donald Trump in the national presidential elections on November 8.
