WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Democratic party’s presumptive presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is tied in support with her Republican rival Donald Trump as the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a new poll revealed on Monday.
"Clinton and Trump each have the support of 42 percent of voters," according to the CBS News poll.
The poll also noted that Trump’s standing after last week’s Republican National Convention is a better than Mitt Romney’s, who received no bump in the polls after the convention in 2012.
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson receives 11 percent of the vote, according to the poll.
The Democratic National Convention takes place at Philadelphia’s the Wells Fargo Center from July 25 until July 28.
