    Republican Convention Nominates Mike Pence as Vice President

    Former Indiana Governor and Congressman Michael Pence was formally nominated to be nominee Donald Trump's Vice President, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Tuesday evening.

    CLEVELAND (Sputnik) — Following the voice vote for Pence, Republican Convention chairman and House Speaker Paul Ryan officially announced the 2016 Republican ticket as Trump-Pence.

    "I am proud to announce that Governor Michael Pence has the overwhelming support of this convention to be the next vice president of the United States," McConnell said after delegates cast a voice vote in support of Pence's nomination.
