Former US Republican presidential hopefuls who are boycotting the Republican National Convention (RNC) where Donald Trump will be named the party’s candidate are not upholding their pledge to support the party, former Governor of Arkansas and Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee said on Sunday.

Republicans United Behind Presumptive Candidate Despite Anti-Trump Wing
CLEVELAND (Sputnik) — Former candidates Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, John Kasich, and Lindsey Graham are among the candidates who have decided to sit out the RNC.

“I think that some of my fellow candidates, and I’m very disappointed in them--I think they are acting with a great level of petulance. They are also acting with dishonor,” Huckabee said.

Huckabee accused the former candidates failing to uphold a pledge made in 2015, where each candidate vowed to support their party’s nominee.

“Somebody who said they would [support the Republican nominee] and now they won’t, I think they have lost a lot of their credibility,” Huckabee said.

The RNC is taking place from Monday through Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio. Donald Trump is expected to receive the party’s nomination and go on to compete in the November general election.
