    Indiana Gov. Mike Pence on Saturday has officially accepted Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's offer to become his running mate as US Vice President.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Friday, Trump selected Pence as his running mate. Pence was first elected Governor of the US state of Indiana in 2013. He also served in the US House of Representatives from 2001-2013.

    "I accept your invitation to run and serve as Vice-President of the United States of America," Pence said at the press conference in New Jersey where Trump has made an official announcement of his choice.

    During the Republican primary, Pence endorsed one of Trump’s former opponents US Senator Ted Cruz.
