Some 200 citizens of New York protested on Times Square on Saturday against NATO expansion, while the Alliance's Summit was being held in Warsaw, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

NEW YORK (Sputnik) — According to Co-Chairman of United National Antiwar Coalition (UNAC) Joe Lombard, the Alliance's summit in Warsaw was aimed at NATO expansion, although there is no need for it.

NATO was created to counteract the USSR, but it has collapsed long time ago, Lombard stressed.

According to the report, protesters was holding "No to NATO, No to War" and "Yes to Peace, No — NATO" posters.

Anti-NATO demonstrations will also be held in other US cities, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Minneapolis.
