WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier on Wednesday, House Democrats interrupted the House session demanding a vote on gun legislation to block individuals on the US government’s no-fly list from obtaining firearms, and enhanced background checks.
The group of more than 60 congressman have refused to vacate the House of Representatives chamber until Speaker Paul Ryan calls a vote on the gun legislative proposals.
"Hoyer and McCarthy met…They were supposed to tell us whether they were going to give us a vote or not, obviously they are not," Grijalva said on Wednesday evening.
According to reports from Capitol Hill, the House Republican leadership is planning a conference meeting at present to discuss the Democratic sit-in.
