    Orlando Gay Nightclub Massacre (77)

US presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton called for tighter gun controls on Sunday after a gunman shot and killed at least 50 people at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Orlando massacre has become the deadliest mass shooting in the history of the United States, surpassing the death toll from the 2007 incident at Virginia Tech, which claimed 32 lives.

Reiterating President Barack Obama’s words that it was an "act of terror" and "act of hate," Clinton urged to "redouble our efforts to defend our country from threats at home and abroad," including from international terrorist groups.

"To the LGBT community: please know that you have millions of allies across our country. I am one of them.” —Hillary https://t.co/MmaGjrSufr
