Orlando Club Gunman Dead, Police Chief Says 'Many Lives Lost'

A gunman, who was behind Sunday's mass shooting in a nightclub in Florida is dead, local police said. The police chief added that at least 42 people have been hospitalized and at least 20 people are dead.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, mass shooting occurred at a nightclub in Florida, wounding at least 42 people. According to media reports, the gunman took hostages at the club. The suspect was armed with a rifle and a pistol.

​"Pulse Shooting: The shooter inside the club is dead," the Orlando Police Department said via Twitter.

According to the police, US Federal law enforcement agencies have joined investigation into attack at the club.
