WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — A victory by Trump in the US presidential election in November would play into the hands of the Islamic State terror group, and make them more aggressive, Clinton told a rally in San Diego, California.
"A Trump presidency would embolden ISIS [Islamic State, or Daesh]," Clinton stated on Thursday. "We cannot take that risk."
The speech marked the most sustained criticism Clinton has so far made of Trump’s positions on foreign policy.
"His proposal to ban 1.5 million Muslims from coming to our country is a huge propaganda victory for ISIS [Islamic State]," she claimed.
Clinton is campaigning across California before the state, the most populous in the United States, holds its primary election on January 7.
Most recent opinion polls show Clinton lead shrinking to only two percent, well within the margin of error, against challenger Bernie Sanders.
