Apple Reports First Quarterly Earnings Decline in 13 Years

On Tuesday, Apple reported its largest decline in earnings in years, and the first ever decline in iPhone sales, as the company suffered a 7% stock price drop in heavy trading.

Apple has previously come under fire over their use of “sweatshop” factories in China, where workers are paid the equivalent of some $260 per month and 18 employees attempted suicide in 2010 alone by jumping off of the buildings, 14 of which were successful.

Following the deaths of the workers, the company installed suicide nets around all of the buildings and hired psychological counselors.

In 2012, 150 workers climbed atop one of the factories and threatened a mass suicide in protest of their poor working conditions.
