MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The medics’ attempts to revive American pop singer Prince Rogers Nelson failed on Thursday after the singer was found in an elevator, police said.

Prince’s publicist Yvette Noel-Schure told Sputnik on Thursday that Prince died on Thursday morning at the age of 57 at his Paisley Park residence in Minnesota, in the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen.

Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said on Thursday afternoon as cited by USA Today that the medics who were dispatched to Paisley Park found the singer unresponsive in an elevator and their attempts to revive him failed.
