WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Supreme Court ruled that the US Congress did not exceed its authority by passing legislation on securing the restitution from Iran.
"[The law] provides a new standard clarifying that, if Iran owns certain assets, the victims of Iran-sponsored terrorist attacks will be permitted to execute against those assets," Ginsburg wrote as quoted by CNN.
In 1984, the United States designated Iran as a state sponsor of terrorism, accusing Tehran of funding and arming terrorist groups.
