    CIA Torture Report (96)

The United States is opposed to any form of torture practiced by anyone, a standard the US government itself must abide by as well, US Secretary of State John Kerry said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Kerry said he wanted to remove any doubt on the US position on torture given recent public statements others have made.

“The United States is opposed to the use of torture in any form, at any time, by any government or non-state actor,” Kerry stated. “This is a standard that we insist others meet and, therefore, we must meet this standard ourselves.”
