WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Mukasey explained former CIA Director David Petraeus was convicted under one of the four laws, which stipulates that a person is prohibited from placing classified information in a non-classified setting.
"There [are] four of them," Mukasey said when asked whether Clinton broke any laws by using her private server and account on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" on Thursday.
"There’s [another] one that says you can’t expose national secrets through gross negligence, then there’s one that says you can’t destroy government information, and then there’s one that says you can’t obstruct justice," Mukasey noted of the remaining three laws Clinton has likely violated.
On Wednesday, the US media reported that a former Department of State staffer who had set up Clinton’s private server in her home, was granted full immunity by the Department of Justice.
Last March, Clinton came under fire for using her personal email account and server for official purposes when she served as US secretary of state from 2009 to 2013. US Intelligence Community Inspector General Charles McCullough later discovered that Clinton had shared intelligence documents and information about highly classified government programs via her unsecured communications.
