    The 88th Academy Awards ceremony began in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Hollywood. Achievements in up to 25 regular categories are honoured this year at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

    The Swedish actress Alicia Vikander has won the best supporting actress Oscar on Sunday for her portrayal of the wife of a Transgender person.

    George Miller's dystopia "Mad Max: Fury Road" has won six Oscars. Also Alejandro González Iñárritu's "The Revenant" drama has won the Oscar for best cinematography.
    Mad Max: Fury Road has won Oscars in six nominations: the Oscar for best costume design, for best production design, the movie also received Oscar for best makeup and hairstyling, best film editing best sound editing and for sound mixing.

    Best animated film Oscar went to Pixar's drama "Inside Out". Also "Bear Story" has won a best animated short film nomination.

    Best original score Oscar went to Ennio Morricone for "The Hateful Eight". Also, Sam Smith has won best original song nomination for "Writing's on the Wall" frome the "Spectre" movie.

    Alejandro González Iñárritu has won best director Oscar for his survival drama "The Revenant". In 2014 he had also won best director Oscar for his "Berdman" movie.
