One policewoman was fatally shot, while two other police officers were injured in the shooting in the eastern US state of Virginia, local media reported.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Washington Post reported Saturday, citing local authorities, that a person opened fire at three police officers, who arrived at his place following a call on possible domestic violence.

The newspaper added that the incident took place at 5:30 p.m. local time (22:30 GMT) in Virginia's Prince William County.

Media reported that the killed officer was sworn on Friday and began her first shift this weekend.
