John Kerry plans to personally oppose the closure of the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Obama administration does not intend to close the US naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, US Secretary of State John Kerry told the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee on Thursday.

"No plan, no discussion, I would personally be opposed to that," Kerry stated when asked if the Obama administration could close the base or return it to Cuba.
