NEW YORK (Sputnik) — The presence of a suspicious package led to an evacuation at the mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations (UN), New York Police Department (NYPD) spokesperson told Sputnik.
"At approximately 2:40 p.m., police responded to a call of a suspicious package at the Saudi Mission to the United Nations," the spokesperson said on Tuesday. "Upon arrival, we were informed by security that the package delivered by the US Postal Service was deemed suspicious end an evacuation was ordered."
The package has since been deemed "non-suspicious," according to the NYPD.
The Saudi Arabia mission to the United Nations is located on East 46th Street in New York City, directly across the street from the UN Headquarters building.
