The campaign of Republican party front-runner Donald Trump had to redo a promotional video on veteran issues after a revelation that the film featured Russian soldiers instead of Americans.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Friday morning, businessman-turned-politician Trump released an ad about wrongful treatment of US veterans. However, the video showed Russian veterans with military decorations and ribbons of Saint George, a symbol of victory in World War II.

Josh Perry, an aide for Senator Ted Cruz, who is competing with Trump for Republican presidential nomination, pointed out the mistake on social media.

At present, Trump is leading in all US polls by wide margins as Republican presidential candidate. The mogul's popularity has not suffered despite mistakes in his campaign.

Trump's staffers have previously used footage from Morocco in a film that targeted illegal immigration through the US southern border with Mexico.
