WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The previous event in March 2015 led to the announcement of $3.6 billion in US investment, which helped to create 7,799 US jobs, according to the release.
"US Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker today announced that registration is now open for the third SelectUSA Investment Summit to be held June 19-21, 2016, in Washington, DC," the release stated on Thursday.
The Summit, according to the release, will feature participants from more than 70 international markets with US government officials from all 50 states and the country’s territories. US Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker said this event will magnify the benefits of investing in the United States.
"The SelectUSA Investment Summit is an opportunity to underscore some of our country’s greatest strengths, including a vibrant culture of innovation, a skilled and productive workforce, and an attractive consumer market," Pritzker said.
She added the gathering will give international businesses and economists resources to further invest their funds in the United States.
