They say running for office can be hardest on a candidate’s family. Not so for the daughter of billionaire Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, who appears to be enjoying the limelight so much that she’s not ruling out a political future of her own.

During his presidential campaign, real estate mogul Donald Trump has put enough feet in his mouth to host a decathlon. But one of the first controversies he faced was charges of sexism, particularly following a well-publicized feud with Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly.

"You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever," he said on CNN. It didn’t help matters that this comment was essentially in response to Kelly asking about Trump’s habit of calling women "fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals."

The billionaire’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, conducted an interview with Town & Country magazine earlier this week, in which she largely did damage control for her father.

"If he didn’t feel that women were as competent as men, I would be relegated to some role subordinate to my brothers," she said. "I think this is one of his great strengths: He fully prioritizes merit and accomplishment and skill and ability over background, education, and gender."

The 34-year-old is the Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at the Trump Organization, and has been described by Politico as "the quiet power behind the Trump throne."

"He 100% believes in equality of gender, so, yes, absolutely – socially, politically, and economically, confidence in women to do any job that a man can do, and my whole life has been proof of that," Ms. Trump said, when asked if her father could be considered a feminist.

Ivanka is referring to the same Donald Trump who just this week began attacking Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for being married to an unfaithful husband.

But if wrapping one’s head around the notion of Donald Trump being a feminist isn’t brain-breaking enough, Ivanka Trump dropped one last bombshell during her interview.

"It’s not something I’ve ever been inclined to do, but I’m 34, so who knows?" she said when asked if she would consider running for public office. "At this point, I would never even contemplate it, but that doesn’t mean that when I’m 50 I won’t have a change of heart."

If the United States survives the crazy train that is the prospect of a President Trump in 2016, there may be another round coming America’s way in 2032.
