WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States has been improving the process of sharing information on terrorism with European partners and other countries around the world, President Barack Obama said in a year-end press conference on Friday.

"We are continuing to strengthen our information sharing with foreign countries and because in part of the tragedy in Paris, you are seeing much greater cooperation from our European partners on these issues," Obama stated.

"One of the things we will be doing is engaging with the high-tech community to find out how we can, in an appropriate way, do a better job, if we have a lead, to be able to track suspected terrorists," Obama said.

He also noted that the United State is enhancing its assistance to the forces fighting the Islamic State (IS, ISIL or Daesh) on the ground, US President Barack Obama said on Friday.

"We are stepping our support for our partners on the ground as they push ISIL [Daesh] back," Obama said in a year-end press conference.
