US Media Shows Footage of Russian Airstrikes Passed Off as American

PBS NewsHour, a daily US television news program shown on the US Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), used footage of Russian airstrikes against ISIL targets, claiming that they were US airstrikes, an Information Clearing House article revealed.

Earlier this week, the US government said it would intensify anti-ISIL airstrikes and bomb the terrorist organization's oil infrastructure, which is ISIL's primary source of income.

After that, on November 16, the US military said it destroyed 116 trucks carrying illegal oil in ISIL-controlled territories.

"On Monday, 295 trucks were in the area, and more than a third of them were destroyed, United States officials said. The A-10s dropped two dozen 500-pound bombs and conducted strafing runs with 30-millimeter Gatling guns. The AC-130s attacked with 30-millimeter Gatling guns and 105-millimeter cannons," the New York Times colorfully described the US military operation that allegedly took place on November 16.

Well, it sure sounded like a major anti-ISIL operation in the wake of the Paris attacks. But so far, these are just claims, not backed by any evidence.

Two days later, on November 18, the Russian Air Force destroyed 500 oil trucks that had been illegally transporting oil from ISIS-controlled territories.

Unlike the US Air Force, which didn't provide any video evidence from their alleged operation, the Russian Defense Ministry promptly released videos of what exactly happened to terrorists and how the operation unfolded.

On November 19, PBS NewsHour ran a program on ISIL and "showed" how their oil trucks were destroyed by US airstrikes.

It's all fine and dandy, but the US public broadcaster used the footage of Russian airstrikes, passing them off as US airstrikes, without revealing the true source.

"For the first time the US is attacking oil delivery trucks," the voice-over said between 2:30 — 2:35, while showing a clip of exactly the same video published by the Russian Defense Ministry the day before.

The PBS program neither mentioned the Russian military operation nor revealed the source of the footage.

What the US channel did was just outright lying, because millions of viewers would certainly think the video footage showing the explosions of oil trucks was from US airstrikes about which the New York Times ran an article on Monday.

Anti Semitic is incorrect. People, awake yourselves out of the garden of Ignorance. You have to first be a Semite in order to have experience Anti Semitic actions. It is like calling someone anti black when they are indeed a not black. These Jews have hijacked not only the Jewish faith and doctrines, they have brought stupidity to the masses.

ron, And what nation contains the most Semites? Perhaps looking at what defines a Semite will help: A Semite is a person whose native language is semetic, Hebrew and Arabic being two examples. The most anti-Semitic nation is Israel, itself Semitic, thanks to its colonialist, fascist Zionist ideology, which presents quite a twist as it constantly invokes anti-Semitic as a slur and derisive epithet against those that expose its double-dealing, racist and deeply criminal state behavior.

ron, You are welcome. I accused PBS of deliberate deception and propaganda additionally asking them if the Pentagon had any credible video footage.

The definition being one who speaks a certain language does not define the Semite but what it includes. The word stems from lineage or bloodline example: a member of any of the peoples descended from Shem, the eldest son of Noah.

The so called Jew who occupy and live in Israel and who sympathize with Israel right, are Jew impostures. They have hijacked the Jewish doctrine and belief as those who called themselves Muslims who again have hijacked the doctrines of Islam.

West media claims that all attacks are done by U.S and FSA. Never ever mentioning Russia. they say that Russia is siding Assad, and nothing else.

One can watch the entire segment in question of the PBS broadcast of November 19th on the PBS website. The segment was prepared by Paul Solmon (New York) and Ken Simpson (London) of Bloomberg BusinessNews. The point of the initial part of the segment is how the ISIS uses confiscated Syrian oil resources to obtain money for their war. Solmon does a voice over for the video clips used illustrating the bombing and attacks on the ISIS oil supply infrastructure. As one of the authors of the PBS segment, it would appear that Solmon is the person responsible for inserting the Russian strike videos in his presentation without attribution. He can get away with non-attribution because he begins his presentation by saying that the attacks on the ISIS oil infrastructure "... are being pounded by the forces arrayed against ISIS ... ", which of course includes Russia. But in my opinion by far the most important part of Solmon's presentation is the concluding part of the segment in which co-author Ken Simpson describes the brutal alternatives to oil sales financing which ISIS uses. It is this second part of the segment that points to why there has been a huge out-migration from Syria -- stunning, incredibly high nearly confiscatory taxation on everything that can possibly be taxed, kidnapping citizens and holding them for ransom, and when taxation fails, then outright extortion of money from the people under the rule of ISIS. Radio and television broadcasts to the Syrian people asking them to help identify and pinpoint ISIS supply depots and strongholds to help throw out and destroy the ISIS. They are thieves and worshippers of Satan, not of Allah (may he be praised) who is both the East and the West. Aerial bombing and destruction of cities and citizens' homes, markets, and businesses is not always the best answer available.
PBS programs, such as the November 19th broadcast in question, are archived and available on the Internet for viewing in their entirety. The network is only partially funded by the U.S. government; the network is also funded by contributions from individuals, corporations, beneficial trusts, and other non-government sources.
The PBS daily and weekend News Hours are really worth taking the time to watch.

It is the same with the BBC and UK media. Claiming all success with regards destroying ISIS is pure Western (who have not been invited to the party)?
    • avatar
That's because over the past year the terrorist American government was supporting Isis and attacking Syria, that's why they have no footage of attacks on Isis targets.

Americans call false claims of involvement in military action Stolen Valor. In 2005 George Bush introduced The Stolen Valor Act, but these claims are exactly the same thing.
