Five Companies Land $500Mln US Army Base Construction Contract - Pentagon

The US Army has awarded five construction firms contracts worth $500 million to build new facilities on military bases around the world, the US Department of Defense announced.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The work will be performed at US government locations worldwide and is expected to be complete by November 8, 2023.

“Contractor will provide architect-engineering … environmental services including operations and maintenance, environmental restoration … Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC), and military family housing programs worldwide,” the announcement stated on Monday.

The Defense Department stated the five companies are: URS Group of San Antonio, Texas; Jacobs Government Services of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; HDR Environmental, Operations and Construction of Englewood, Colorado; MWH-CARDNO TEC-BAKER-JV of San Antonio, Texas; and Tetra Tech of Pasadena, California.

“The work includes all efforts necessary to manage and execute… services primarily for environmental projects including planning and programming, restoration, quality (compliance and pollution prevention) and conservation,” the announcement added.
