WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States does not intend to stop flights to Egypt amid the investigation of the Russian Metrojet airliner crash on the Sinai Peninsula, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in a briefing on Friday.
“At this point no [suspension], at this point the safety precautions that we believe are necessary are being implemented based on the decision that was announced by [Homeland Security] Secretary Johnson earlier today,” Earnest stated.
Earnest made the statement in answering a question about whether the United States intends to take steps similar to Russia’s decision to suspend flights to Egypt during the Metrojet crash investigation.
