The budget deal reached between Congress and the Obama administration is aligned with the framework envisioned by President Barack Obama, White House spokesperson Eric Schultz told reporters on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Earlier on Tuesday, US House Speaker John Boehner confirmed that Congress reached a bipartisan agreement on the US budget that will ensure funding the government for the next two years and raising the country's debt ceiling.

"We believe this a budget framework that meets the president’s vision," Schultz said.

The agreement, which must be approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate, will provide $80 billion in sequester relief for two years to be equally divided between military and other public expenditures.

The White House had urged Congress earlier to update the 2016 budget by using the "dollar for dollar" principle that was to ensure military expenditures could not be increased without increasing funding in other areas.
